Our team and I got off to an early start Thursday to make our log journey across the deserts of California, Nevada, and ultimately Utah to our final destination of Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. Although, it was a hot trek across the open Mojave Desert, there was some beautiful landscape and the Miller Motorsports Facility is an amazing place. The park offers all kinds of activities including all the necessities for camping. With qualifying underway on Friday, we pulled the truck to the line preparing for battle. Overall practice went smooth, we ended up qualifying 5th only a half a second under the fasted time due to the truck not being able to pull 3rd gear. The wrong torque converter being the issue and not having a replacement we had to run the race without having sufficient power in 3rd. After practice we made an attempt to fool the truck by changing the gearing to help put more power to the ground. With that not solving the issue, we just pushed the truck as hard as we could during both races. Not a single issue during either race, with everything going completely smooth we managed to secure two top ten finishes both nights even with our gearing issues. Special shout out to my team for helping me tackle the weekend and motivate me to push forward. I have to give it up to my sponsors for all their backing and support: General Tire, KC HiLites, Camburg, King Shocks, Jamar Brakes, McKenzie’s, Patrick’s Signs, Neo Synthetics, Rancho Performance Transaxles, and Hostyle.
