LOORS Las Vegas Round 8
Las Vegas, Nevada. A city with many nick names, where dreams can come true or you can lose everything. Just north of the Vegas strip is the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This stop always brings in the heavy crowds followed by the insane racing. However, this weekend in particular brought even larger crowds which led to some serious battling. We went into qualify with the truck dialed in. After qualifying 6th we noticed a small leak in the transmission. Before the main event, my team and I dropped the trans to replace the seal and got the truck running in time for the action.
Race time. We got a good start holding a solid 6th, everything was tight and the truck was on point. This allowed for me to focus on every truck, one at a time. They pulled a caution do to a crash which tightened up the group. On green we only had 2 laps to fight for 3rd and that last podium spot. After a solid battle I had to settle for 4th. Saturday I was ready for battle and after Fridays racing I knew my truck was ready to fight. We went into qualifying and held the top spot on lap 5. Made a little mistake on lap 6 which costed me the top spot. After starting on the second row I had a fairly clean race. We had a tight get together between me and a few other racers which caused Jeremy ‘Twitch” Stenberg to get under my rear end slowing us both down. After a battle to the front I managed to settle for a solid 5th place finish.
I was very happy with this weekend’s results. As a team we can only get better and improve on the other racers. My team performed excellent which helped keep everything running smooth. I have to thank all my sponsors and support for their effort: General Tire, KC HiLites, Camburg, King Shocks, Jamar Brakes, McKenzie’s, Patrick’s Signs, Neo Synthetics, Rancho Performance Transaxles, and Hostyle.
