LOORRS Las Vegas Round 13

This round of the 2014 Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series brought us to the iconic Sin City, otherwise known as Las Vegas, where there is gambling in luxurious casinos and clubs where the party never ends. Held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway we managed to see some cool road racing cars tear it up out on their road racing track during our down time. The forecast said heat and rain and that is exactly what we ended up getting. With the high temps, the track was rutted and dry, they couldn’t keep the dust under control no matter the amount of water laid on it. The first night we qualified 5th and managed to hold a solid 6th place the majority of the race. Around lap 11 I got punted and spun out in a corner causing me to lose time and position while putting me back in the pack, ultimately having to settle for a 10th place finish.

Overnight my team and I did the standard prep getting the car dialed for the next day of racing. We went straight into qualifying and managed a 3rd in time just two-tenths of a second off the fastest time. While waiting for the night race to begin the Pro 4s began to line up when the severe rain came in. With the rain followed the severe lightning storm. Due to safety, race officials called off the race and decided to postpone the race until Lake Elsinore. Regardless of the cancellation we still had a good run with the truck running amazing. I have to thank all my sponsors and support for their effort: General Tire, KC HiLites, Camburg, King Shocks, Jamar Brakes, McKenzie’s, Patrick’s Signs, Neo Synthetics, Rancho Performance Transaxles, and Hostyle.
